Paperkate went to the Brisbane show last night and gave away all her money to the carnies... $70 and the only thing to show for it is a bottle of water and an ugly toy rabbit!Fun times were had though
More posts will follow soon with news of what I've been working on the shop
Amy over at Pikaland is about to launch the March round of PikaPackage and I'm so excited to be participating. For those of you that don't know, the PikaPackage Project is a specially put-together quarterly collection of goodies from illustrators and artists that will result in ONE to TWO free monthly PikaPackage giveaway to readers. The rest will be sold as a lucky dip package to spread the word about their fantastic art!
I've contributed some cards and rub-ons from the store and you can head over to Amy's flickr to see the contributions from the many talented artists in the March line up
So hurry up and check it out... you can win stuff ;) Thanks Amy!
Yey! My first set of moo cards have arrived! I found them waiting for me very patiently in my letterbox. I'm really happy with the way they turned out.
Hey kids! Just wanted to share this book with you, which I read over the summer. It's only short, but it was a great read! I was quite impressed to find out that it was Franciose Sagan's first novel... she was only 18 when she wrote it, but it seems she was quite insightful.
For the few days after I read it I found myself daydreaming of a summer holiday on the French Riviera *sigh*. It was a great way to spend the afternoon. And there are so many great covers for the book - you can't go wrong with one of these pretties!
Strapped for cash this Valentines Day? Don't let that stop you from telling the one you love how you feel about them!
I've created these free printable downloads just for you. You can download the cards here and the envelopes here. These downloads have been made to standard A4 and C6 sizes, so for those of you in the US you may need to select the "scale to fit" option before you print. They will work best with 8.5 x 11 in. paper, and A2 size envelopes.
Spread the love!
**EDIT** Ok, so I can't figure out how to link pdf's to my blog properly, so for the time being you can still get the free printables by emailing me paperkateshop(at)gmail(dot)com :) ...Instructions on linking pdf's would also be well received!
Yey! Nehoc has finally re-opened for business in 2009, which means I can get together with my old friend Gocco and start printing again!
The cards above are part of a set, but I have run out of white ink, so haven't been able to print the other designs. I can't wait for printing-fun this weekend!
I've just been wandering around flickr and have discovered Irina Troitskaya's photostream. Freelance illustrator by day and artist by night, Irina has got a whole lot of talent to share.
I love her effective use of line and colour... her drawings seem to be simple and yet detailed at the same time!
You can check out more of Irina's work here and visit her website here
*sigh* I am in love with this adorable bunny vase from prettyrandomobjects on etsy. Unfortunately, this hot little item is sold out at the moment, but you should check out some of the other cute things in her shop.
I can't wait until this little bunny vase is back in stock
Monday was my first day back at work after the Christmas break, so naturally I was feeling pretty bummed on Monday morning... but if only I had known what was waiting for me at work!
My super-awesome Christmas present from Mr Paper arrived a whole lot earlier than expected. It took all my will power to get through the day, knowing that my very own "Charley Harper: An Illustrated Life" was sitting next to my desk. I have now spent several hours going through the book and I am no closer to deciding on a favourite illustration. It almost seems impossible that one person can have so much talent :)
So Happy New Year everyone! With a start like this, I've got a feeling this year is gonna be a good one!
